2007-2008 Membership Year

Lights, Camera, Action! The spotlight is on you.

We are setting the stage for you to Make Your Girl Scout Program Year a Hit!

Music, art, and drama are part of our Girl Scout history. We use these forms of art to creatively express how we feel about our friends, our families, our communities, and each other. This year music, art, and drama are the backdrop for blockbuster program activities where girls will discover that it takes all kinds of talents to become a successful leader. They are going to dazzle you with their style, class, creativity, imagination, and mega star power. The council is providing the materials and resources you need to integrate outcomes based activities into your troop’s plans. All you have to provide is your imagination, creativity, and commitment to helping girls become leaders. We want all girls to participate and you are sure to receive rave reviews for their performance.

What role do you play?

Every girl’s a star and you’re the Director. To help every girl develop the skills she needs to lead with courage, confidence, and character, use this Program Guide to assist you to intentionally engage your girls in activities that help them develop:

decision making skills

critical thinking skills

cooperation and teamwork skills

conflict resolution and prevention skills

problem solving skills

leadership skills

The program guide will also assist you in observing the impact of the experience you help provide to your troop.

How can you make your Girl Scout program year a hit?

by working with your girls to sketch out the troop’s plans to build a framework for the program year.

by using the Outcomes Tracker to align activities related to Girl Scout awards with outcomes based leadership experiences.

by making a star studded appearance with your troop at the 95th Anniversary Celebration.

by encouraging girls in your troop to learn more entrepreneurial skills by participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale.

by involving your troop in community service projects so they can take action to make the world a better place.

by celebrating your troop’s accomplishments at the end of the year at a show stopping grand finale event.
