"I have been an adult volunteer for eight years. I have worked with adults and girls to help them develop their potential and build self confidence. Girl Scouting has provided me opportunities to develop organizational and leadership skills. But the thing I cherish most is the lifelong friendships."

  Volunteers

Whether your journey as a Girl Scout volunteer is just beginning or you’ve been involved for years, YOU are impacting the course of each girl’s life forever. It is the partnership with adults that makes it possible for girls to gain the courage, confidence and character to make the world a better place.

Girl Scout Council of the Mid-South is committed to making your volunteer experience a memorable and enjoyable trip.

Explore the different ways you can plan your volunteer itinerary. Consider which direction is right for you based on your time, interests and needs. However you choose to get involved, you will provide direction to help girls make important decisions down the road. Don’t forget to pause and enjoy the surprises and benefits along the way.

Adults over the age of 18 - female and male - who are committed to helping girls grow strong are welcome, regardless of racial, ethnic, religious or socio-economic background. We offer a wide array of ways to volunteer. Having Girl Scout leaders is vital; however, so are many other volunteer positions. Check out Volunteer Positions and Volunteers Needed to see where your interests, time and skills might be best utilized.

For the safety of the girls and the integrity of the Girl Scout program, volunteers complete a volunteer application and a review, selection and appointment process, which may include a reference check and interview.

When you are a Girl Scout volunteer, you not only provide for girls directly or indirectly – you will also have the opportunity to gain personal benefits and recognition.

All we ask you to provide is your knowledge, experience, energy and enthusiasm. The council provides training and resources.

Girls’ futures can be a brighter place when caring adults get involved today! Contact the  the Girl Scout Service Center and change the course of a girl's life forever.
