STUDIO 2B is a limitless space where pre-teen and teen Girl Scouts become, belong, believe and build. It includes existing Girl Scout program options, and girls are busy developing new ways and new combinations.

It grew out of the New Directions for Girls 11-17 research conducted by Girl Scouts of the USA in 2001. Thousands of Girl Scouts and non Girl Scouts from various geographic locations, race/ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds were asked what they envisioned as the perfect youth club. Parents, volunteers and council staff also gave input. The answers provided the framework for STUDIO 2B.

As members of STUDIO 2B, girls ages 11-17 voice their opinions on issues they care about and share their hopes, dreams, challenges and fears. This is for girls, by girls!

Adults serve in an advisory role, and the girls’ leadership, ideas and interests are at the forefront. Girls need to have input on what activities they participate and what their Girl Scout experience will be. Let your girls know what STUDIO 2B activities/opportunities are available (see list to left).

For this truly to be for girls, by girls, girls need to let their voice be heard. The teen program specialist is awaiting their comments on what they want from their Girl Scout experience.
