Want to develop your leadership skills, share your expertise and knowledge with younger Girl Scouts and be the "cool" older Girl Scout? Want to meet other Girl Scouts from around the council, have fun, and learn new skills? Then become a Program Aide (PA) or Leader-In-Training (LIT) for our council and further develop your leadership skills. You must be a Program Aide to work at council-wide events. (PA - must have completed 6th grade. LIT - must have completed 9th grade.)

**Due to feedback from Girls Scouts who report a need for shorter training sessions, beginning fall 2004, Girl Scout Program Aide Core training sessions will be offered in two, three-hour sessions, as well as the traditional day-long sessions: The sessions will be called PA Core Training I and PA Core Training II. Both parts must be completed before receiving credit for PA Core training.

There is no cost to attend trainings. All trainings are held at the Girl Scout Program/Training Center, 1931 Dorrie Lane, Memphis.

Girls should pre-register for the trainings by calling Ruth Allen at the Girl Scout Service Center. Registrations will begin immediately. If you have eight or more girls, you are welcome to call Cheryl Green at the Girl Scout Service Center to arrange a date for these trainings to be held in your area.

PA Core Training I

When: Saturday, October 16, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, October 13

Note: Girl Scouts who are just bridging from Junior Girl Scouts and want to become PAs are welcome to begin the PA program with this training. Bring permission slip, lunch, snack, drinks, notepaper, pencil, and two-inch three-ring binder.

PA Core Training II

When: Saturday, October 30, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, October 27

Note: Program Aide Core Training I must be completed first. Bring permission slip, lunch, snack, drinks, notepaper, pencil, and two-inch three-ring binder and activity boxes.

PA Specialization Training: Songs and Games

When: Saturday, November 13, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Registration Deadline: Nov. 10

Note: Girl Scouts who have completed PA Core Training are invited to take this specialization training. Bring permission slip, lunch, snack, drinks, notepaper, pencil, and two-inch three-ring binder.
